WHY DOES GIEO NEED YOUR SUPPORT?
Gieo Journey 2017 is the largest community project that Toa Tau has ever attempted to implement. Gieo plans to bring these unconventional art experiences to almost 1000 people, and spread the joy of living through books, documentaries, and exhibitions to millions more.
Although Toa Tau has been preparing carefully in terms of human resources, methodology, and art tools, Gieo still looks forward to your further support, especially financially. Your invaluable companionship will help us to make our dream of “Sowing the seeds of a Thousand Joys - Harvesting Thousands of Stories” come true.
HOW WILL THIS FUND WILL BE USED IN OUR PROJECT?
Gieo Journey 2017 is divided into 3 phases:
Phase 1: Preparation (from March 1, 2017 to August 30, 2017)
In this phase, the Gieo team will be working with local partners to research and check potential communities (including a 6 days test trip to Ben Tre). This also includes designing activities so they are suitable for each group of participants, and building up interactive channels.
Phase 2: Cross country trip (from September 3, 2917 to October 15, 2017)
This is the period that 50% of the human and financial resources are invested into. The fund will be used to cover the expense of equipment, art supplies for the art activities, and composing content materials along the way; and furthermore, the travelling and accommodation costs of the 45 days.
We are also generously sponsored by Ford Vietnam (including a Ford Transit and a Ford Ranger), Narrow the Gap fund (50 million Vietnam dong) and other benevolent patrons. Phase 1 and 2 will require 280 million Vietnam dong to implement. The fund will also be expended on:
Phase 3: Post Gieo journey (from October 20, 2017 to January 15, 2018)
This is the post journey production of our project. We will carefully pick and sort out all materials, stories, and artworks which we have collected on the road to create books, documentaries, and exhibitions. Gieo wishes to save, nurture, and spread these truthful, beautiful stories to inspire millions of people. The whole budget for phase 3 is estimated to be 440 million dong, which will be divided into:
Gieo is still looking for funding to complete phase 3 of the project. In this case, if the funding for the first two phases is lower than 280 million dong, the surplus would be used for phase 3.
